"While planning our yearly summer trip to Matinicus Island, we thought a day of sailing would be an awesome way to celebrate my birthday... While the logistics of Matinicus are challenging at best, Thor actually sailed to Matinicus to pick us up for our adventure!  we all boarded for a wonderful day of sailing....first around the island, to Matinicus Rock to see the Puffins, some adorable seals and jumping porpoise! Matinicus Island is quite remote so a day of sailing is the way to go for a beautiful experience and something special to do. We definitely plan to do this again!

With a one on one instructional with Thor in the morning and then my wife and son joining for the afternoon. A sufficient overview of safety, navigation, boat handlling and what to stay alert to was covered. Thor is generous with his knowledge while still being so "down to earth". It put me at ease and allowed me and then my family to have fun! We had a beautiful day on the water and loved it when Thor took the helm!"

"Our family visited Acadia National Park the first week of July. Thor met us in NE Harbor and took us out for a day on Somes Sound. He has years of sailing and instructing experience and made us feel extremely comfortable. He had a great demeanor with the kids (19,17,15) and got just the right blend of instruction and fun. Getting to tack a 30 foot sailboat was a highlight of our Acadia trip for our teens and the beauty of Somes Sound is spectacular. Not to be missed!"

"Tried Stand Up Paddling for the first time and was fortunate enough to have Thor Emory as our teacher. Thor is amazing ... he made us laugh and feel totally comfortable all afternoon...Thor was able to teach two totally unskilled people to SUP in one session. He got me hooked so now I want to buy a board. We're sailing with him next time and can't wait. 2011 Stand Up Paddle Boarding

"We had a blast cruising the Florida Everglades and 10,000 Islands for five days on the sailing vessel Thorfinn. Captain Thor Emory is fun and the boat is comfortable and fast. With her shallow draft, we could explore the nooks and crannies of the earth that are inaccessible to other people. Our favorite parts of the trip were sailing in shallow water and then landing on beaches to step ashore easily. We got as much island exploration as we wanted, since Thor accommodates guests' preferences."
